Bio:

Katriona Edlmann is the Chancellor’s Fellow in Energy within the School of Geosciences at The University of Edinburgh undertaking research to support the zero-carbon energy transition.  She studied Petroleum Geology at Aberdeen University before undertaking her Master’s degree and PhD in Petroleum Reservoir Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. Her research includes understanding the secure and sustainable utilisation of the subsurface for low carbon energy applications such as CO2 storage, geothermal energy and subsurface energy storage.  She is part of a team studying the storage of hydrogen, enabling the advancement of hydrogen as a pathway to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG’s) to net zero by 2050.
